Denise Anderson
As a girl in Bradley, Arkansas, Denise Anderson’s parents struggled with personal issues, and she found herself struggling to learn in school. She could not read, and since she could not keep up with her classmates, she stopped going before 10th grade. She married, and the family moved to several different cities while raising their four children.
Olive Watson
When Kayla Watson learned about the beginning Spanish class for Kids at the Literacy Council, she knew it was an enrichment activity that would be a perfect addition to her family’s homeschool routine.
Michael Sasser
Michael Sasser found his way to the Literacy Council of Bowie and Miller Counties three years ago on a recommendation from his probation officer. Sasser had heard about an 80-year-old man who got a GED in Arkansas, and he felt inspired to do the same.
